Grouse over Pointers
The Estate has its own kennel of English Pointers taken to the hill to hunt grouse several days each week for much of the season. The Grouse are shot in a very traditional manner with sometimes only one gun going into a point if stocks are being conserved.
There are several rows of traditional old stone butts and some new sunken wooden ones for use when numbers of grouse allow the moor to be driven.
Heather burning, tick and vermin control are all undertaken on the estate.
