Fishing

The Gannochy beats offer fishing on over 20 named pools and a wide variety of surging depths of the gorges to the serene Dalforth Pool.
There was a fish caught and released back into the Rock Pool a few seasons ago whose measurements equate to 46lbs in weight. The river has Grilse, Sea Trout and Brown Trout of up to 5 1/2lbs as well as Salmon. The prime season begins in May.
The large pools are capable of holding hundreds of fish and there are quiet little-known spots where skillful fishers can sometimes find a fish.
The comfortable fishing hut on the bank at the Dalforth Pool boasts a lovely log burning stove which provides welcome warmth and shelter on colder days. The hut also serves as a good meeting point for guests.
